Santa Cruz de Turrialba Producers' Association donates to CATIE

• Over the years, CATIE has joined local producers in order to support the rural development of the canton

November 29, 2022. On November 24, CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) received an important donation of two new edgebanders from the Association for the Promotion and Strengthening of Dairy Farming (ASOPROFOLAC, its Spanish acronym), which were delivered by its president, Mauricio Solano. The donation is part of a joint agreement that arose from the loan of CATIE's facilities to carry out the Cheese Fair 2022, in Turrialba.

ASOPROFOLAC is made up of small and medium-sized producers from the Santa Cruz area, Turrialba, and its objective is to promote nationally and internationally the consumption of dairy products and their derivatives produced in this region of the country.

The donated equipment was received by Francisco Jamienson and José Barboza, both officials of the Center, and was delivered to the Assets Office to be used for the beautification and care of the institution's green areas.

We thank the association for their valuable contribution and for allowing us to be part of the joint work to support the rural development of the canton.
