Students from the University of Guelph, Canada, visited the CATIE campus

- During the visit, they learned about the Center's work and participated in activities that promote sustainability.
The campus of the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), located in Turrialba, Costa Rica, is the place where a group of students from the University of Guelph, Canada, carried out a series of activities to learn about CATIE's education, research and outreach efforts to promote Inclusive Green Development.

The group arrived on Saturday, February 15 and toured CATIE's sustainable tropical dairy and the International Coffee Collection. They also visited other attractions in the canton of Turrialba and the province of Cartago during the weekend.
The visit continued on Monday with a tour of the CATIE Botanical Garden and a chocolate making workshop at the Sustainable House, where they also contributed to the cleaning of the vegetable garden.

Finally, on Tuesday 18, they visited the plantain plantations and the Sustainable Academic Farm (FAS) within the campus, after being officially welcomed by CATIE's Director General, Dr. Luis Pocasangre. “CATIE is a tropical agriculture education destination for many universities in North America and Latin America and the Caribbean. It is always an attraction to visit CATIE's wonderful campus and the first master's program in tropical agriculture in the region,” said Dr. Pocasangre.

This visit is part of the educational programs offered by CATIE for international students (Study Abroad Program) as a key space for academic exchange and international cooperation, capitalizing on the prestige of its campus for the teaching of tropical agriculture in an environment surrounded by nature.
