Cacao agroforestry systems

In cacao agroforestry systems we work to intensify and diversify the production of this crop and improve the livelihoods of rural family farmers.

With our work we have managed to provide support through the technical and scientific information we produce, training thousands of farming families through the Field Schools.

Cacao agroforestry is an alternative for reducing rural poverty because cacao orchards, in association with other plants and trees, can provide satisfactory and balanced resources to farming families, producing goods and services such as timber, fruit, medicine, honey and other products.

Cacao agroforestry systems store large amounts of carbon, especially in the trunks and branches of trees and palms, so they are recommended for reducing vulnerability and adapting better to climate change. And this aspect is also covered by our actions.
